Support Staff at South Coast Counseling

Overview:

The Support Staff at South Coast Counseling is responsible for the complete care and well-being of the clients while they are receiving services at the facility. Support staff will maintain open line of communication with staff, attending clinicians and physicians, and clients and families.

Duties:  

  • Complete intake during day, evening and weekend hours
  • Provides an ongoing safe environment for staff and clients
  • Completes rounds as required by state and federal regulations
  • Provides a written daily report on rounds / record in EMR
  • Provides supervision of self-administration medication program
  • Oversees residential clients
  • Transports clients to and from appointments, meetings, facilities, outings, and other preauthorized destinations when applicable (Utilizes company transportation)
  • Instructs and confirms the company’s rules and regulations to new admissions (Orientates clients)
  • Knowledge and implementation of IMS and ASAM requirements
  • May act as co-facilitator during group substance abuse sessions
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and staff
  • Attends administrative meetings
  • Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility to changes in work environment
  • Assist with upkeep of facility
  • Completes and forwards any Incident Reports and any other safety/risk issues immediately to Program Director

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent. One year in a similar position. CPR/First Aid Certification and current TB test. Valid State Driver’s License. Should be proficient in a variety of office hardware (copy machine, computer, fax machine, etc.) and software (email tools, EMR).  Registered as a Drug and Alcohol Technician. 

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Must be comfortable driving one or more clients and able to navigate in the outside world.
